I have a Dell printer, which is quite cool and serves me well. The one problem however is that I am a poor student, and Dell printer cartridges are very expensive.
I have found refill sets online, but haven't tried them out before. Now without the comments about how it might not be good for your printer or that you will lose guarantee etc, does anyone have experience with refilling printer cartridges? Or any advice for me?

I have a million year old b&w laser printer that I refill all the time. Bought the refill toner on eBay for cheap, as I recall.
The only problem is that you'll likely have toner spillage (hee!) that will result in some shadowy marks on the first couple of pages you print after refilling.
I have no experience refilling color machines, though. *shrug*

I like the refilling idea from an environmental point of view as well. We live in a "disposable" society, and should be prepared to recycle, refill, re-use, etc. items, even if that comes at a cost.
Difficult to expect individuals (especially students, hehe) to pay more, but surely there must be a way in which companies can make it equally profitable to refill cartridges?
(Even though it's clear to me that printers are just clever ways to lock people into a couple of years of cartridge purchasing...)

In my experience, Dell printers are a complete waste of time and energy. Just trash it and get something better. (sorry rambler, lol :)

(sorry rambler, lol :) It's an all-in-one thing I got for free with my computer. And technically it's a Lexmark anyways. I am actually considering a new printer that I can easily get replacement cartridges for...
