Siafu, The PC for Blind People Posted: 2 years ago by Marz
I've never seen anything like this, it looks incredible. A new type of PC for blind people. I can't describe it very well, so have a look.

this is an amazing concept!

things like this make it hard to understand why we are still so reliant on oil! we have people smart enough to come up with these amazing devices but no one has developed a viable alternative fuel? smells like greed and the power of the oil industry to me!

This concept makes me think what scientists are able to do and what gadgets we are going to see in the future.

Isn't Siafu a type of ant in the jungle? Like, the type that swarms and eats anything in its path? Seems like an odd name for a computer for blind people...

I think Siafu ants are blind, but that doesn't seem terribly PC!

I wish this was invented a few years ago so that my friend Ricky could have enjoyed it.

So bad! But I chuckled.

Aside from that, this is amazing, to the least. Not that I can read braille but I sure would like to see it in person.

I'm guessing the price for this is insanely ridiculous.

Maybe so but the blind get subsidies and various charitable equipment that can improve their lives. I searched for something like this for Ricky back then and couldn't find it. He was diabetic and lost his eyesight and was very depressed, he felt he couldn't really be part of the group of his sighted friends anymore. He was NEVER left out but imagine being around people who are having a great time and you can't really see it to enjoy it too. This would have made him happy, or happier, he could connect easily with other people and not even have to admit he was blind (I think it embarrassed him).

He stopped going to dialysis and didn't tell anyone, he slipped into a coma and never came back from it.

Maybe this could have changed his life. I hope it will change someone else's out there.
