cool, but laser tech still uses too much energy. you 'd need a nuclear plant in your backpack to do as han solo did.
it takes a whole boeing to carry enough battery(or other form of energy source) to operate a laser that is strong enough to eliminate a missile:

That's a very small, thin, target. I could have gone through it in a millisecond with a pinhead.

Let's see a laser burn through a 1/4" aluminum plate.

Also, there was air blowing at 360 km/h (225 mph), which accounts for most of the activity you see there.
