NYC Considering Robohawk to fight pigeons
NYC Considering Robohawk to fight pigeons
Will the Big Apple spring big $$$ to fight rats with wings? Liverpool, England started their robot hawk program last year.

More on the "pigeon czar" proposal.

Wouldn't it be cheaper and more effective to use *actual* hawks?

And what happens when the robot hawks scare away all the pigeons? They work their way up the food chain, that's what happens.

And then it's only a matter of time before we're fending-off air-borne robotic carnivores whose sole directive is to eliminate any other warm-blooded target.

And then the manufacturers of steel-reinforced umbrellas see their stock prices go through the roof.

Ah, live hawks. Yes, NYC does or was using live hawks to hunt down rats and pigeons in Bryant Park. One of them caught a small dog, though and was suspended from the program. The dog was fine. I posted the story on plime, but alas, it has turned into digital debris.

Here's an older story.
