I would like to add one:

"When travelling back from the USA with lots of baggage, and a week or so before your wife and children, think about this. If you have to pick your colleague up at a hotel/guesthouse in Accra, make sure the bags are not clearly visible through the windows of the car while you are parked outside. It might give thieves a bright idea..."
