4000 deaths and last letters to home Posted: 7 months ago by TraumaMamma
Unlike the soldiers of some previous wars, who were only occasionally able to send letters back home to loved ones, many of those who died left behind an extraordinary electronic testimony describing in detail the labor, the fears and the banality of serving in Iraq.

The soldiers are all so young. For me, letters are so personal. I'm reminded that every soldier has a mama who's probably worried sick about her boy...

At least I sent one little care package, thanks to you, TM. I might not agree with the war, but I do believe in doing kind things.

I'm also reminded of this song:

I never saw this video, but I used the song for my son when he graduated bootcamp. When we dropped him off at base after our day with him, we heard this on the radio and we were all bawling.

I am proud. Thanks for making me cry!!
