Very interesting. I do believe McCain might be suffering from PTSD and that could well drive him to want to continue to fight a war that long since ended and, therefore, he will endorse any battle. He doesn't seem like a bad guy, but he seems very confused.

Well, I understand the idea that McCain had a different experience than some of the other Veteran Senators... although, I reject the articles implication that this is somehow negative.
There are many reasons for McCain's disagreement with the other congressmen... some being more simple (what did they believe before they entered Vietnam), and some being more cynical (it's very difficult to be a pro-Iraq Democrat these days, and keep you seat). But either way, the bottom line is their different experiences throughout LIFE, brought them to where they are today.
And simply because McCain's opinion currently differs from some of the other members of Congress... it does not somehow imply that it's wrong. That's simply a false conclusion.

"During the late 1980s and early 1990s, after he arrived in the Senate, McCain was, in fact, an outspoken opponent of American intervention in faraway lands — at least in cases where the country wasn’t willing to lose thousands of lives to achieve its aims." (pg 2)
How do you know the other guys aren't suffering from PTSD, and that's why they want to keep anyone else away from conflict, no matter what the dangers of that decision might be?
I've heard this theory made before... and it isn't really based on any kind of fair analysis.

He displays them and they others don't. That flip-flopping could well be a part of the PTSD, it's as much an internal conflict as it is an external demonstration of odd behavior.

I think you're partially right about the PTSD when you take into account his quickness to anger and obvious inability to concentrate, but you have to look at the whole person. We still get glimpses of the old smartass (bomb, bomb Iran) McCain, who finished 4th from the bottom at Annapolis, still trying to be the class clown, looking for admiration wherever he can find it .. his last chance to prove to history that he actually eclipsed both his father & grandfather in the war mentality.
Unfortunately, in my opinion, because of his desperate need for respect (without doing the groundwork that all respect demands), he lacks the fortitude and intelligence to keep from being controlled by the pentagon war mongers & defense contractors, not to mention his whole cabinet, whom he would choose mistakingly thinking it to be a knowledge base. He would be eaten alive without ever suspecting a thing ... kinda like GW.
Put this together with his complete ignorance of anything to do with the economy of our country, you should come to some kind of idea where he fits in to my picture.

« ImNotBlue : Well, what symptoms does he display, that the others don't? I suggest you read up on PTSD if you want those answers. I have. It's a complicated diagnosis. You do a little research and draw your own conclusions, as I have. But I won't do your work for you. As always you have the choice to believe as you wish, with or without the research but I refuse to do it for you only to have you refute it because you can never see a Republican party member as wrong, incompetant or criminal.
As the saying goes (paraphrased for my own amusement), "never try to teach a sheep to fly, it wastes your time and annoys the sheep".

Man oh man... I guess I should just "take your word for it?" Because you haven't been known to attack Republicans just because of that little "R" they put next to their name. I’m drowning in the hypocracy.
If you want me to give your theory any kind of creedence, give me a reason... back up your statement... do something! You can't just throw around "I think" statements, without some sort of evidence, and expect to be taken seriously.

That's not meant as an insult, I just haven't spent any time trying to work it out, and I won't.
I've tried to give you information, I've seen countless people try to give you information only to be met with the same tired, unsubstantiated dismissals. You want people to google up citings and then you come back with some non-sense.
You're really not worth the effort. It's just as simple as that. You can be offended or not by it, I don't care. You're just not significant enough for me to consider worthy of the effort when I know that you aren't even going to absorb a bit of information that I offer and further you have that very same information at your fingertips by simply typing in PTSD or (with a bit more effort) Post Traumatic Stress Disorder in google.
If you really gave a s**t, you'd have done this already. But you don't, you're looking for an argument.
Another old saying for you "I refuse to have a battle of wits with an unarmed person"
Go get YOUR ammo if you want to argue with me.

Go get YOUR ammo if you want to argue with me. Obama is actually from Jupiter, and eats babies to live. His wife is actually tiger, dressed up in a human suit so she appears more friendly, but has plans to destroy all the people with the letter "E" in their first name.
Hillary suffers from having an unfaithful husband, and now everything she does is designed to enact her vengeance out upon the men in America.
Don't believe me? Google it... do your own research... I know it's true. In fact, I’m offended you’ve even asked. It must be you… you’re a jerk.
Oy-friggin-vey. Do you know what the burden of proof is? If you make a statement, you have to back it up… hello?
Fine, don't... and blame me for wanting some evidence, and not just accepting whatever you say as truth. Odds are, you've got no proof... and now you're mad that someone's called you on it. Sorry... my bad... next time you come up with a theory, I'll accept it and move on, lest I offend you with my annoying requests for evidence.

You don't accept the evidence as truth either and never put up any reasonable defensive evidence to the contrary. Not that it matters because you're quite wrong, I don't want you to believe anything I don't really care what you believe or why. I don't doubt you believe Obama comes from Jupiter. It's perfectly in line with your usual train of thought.
Further I stated an opinion, you want to formulate an opinion to the contrary go get your own evidence.

And using me as an excuse for why you don't want to give evidence is especially weak. What about the other people who read this blog, who have seen your post, and are now curious about it?
I just don't understand why you refuse to defend your opinion with anything tangible.
