Well after last night's episode(May 8) I was definitely left saying, "WHAT!?"

Last night's episode was amazing.

Last night's episode was bordering on becoming an episode of THE TWILIGHT ZONE!

SERIOUSLY! They're throwing everything at us this season.

That's what it sounds like at my house every time the roommates and I watch an episode.

I think Jack is Jacob, and so his father and his sister are his emissaries to talk to others until he's ready. That's the show. Jack becomes aware that he's in charge of some kind of space time continuum thing on the island and needs things to happen a certain way to save people's lives. He can go backwards or forwards in time and phases in and out, which is why you see a version of his sister that is all smiles. It's a future version of herself. Or perhaps alternate time reality version of herself. Jack, who has been called a great leader on the episode where he gets the tattoo on his arm, will be revealed as the "great man' Jacob, a man that will have his destiny revealed to him near the end of the show as the guy that must make things go a certain way in time for people to be saved.
