George Carlin On White people And The Blues
George Carlin On White people And The Blues [video]
Funny, funny man. Kinda makes me a bit sad posting this but it's brilliant. Carlin's take on why white people shouldn't play the blues. picked by doggylives 2 months ago

There are over 1900 george carlin videos posted at youtube alone

there I have just linked to all of them. Now any more after this will be dupes. :-)
[just joking, I'm not really saying they all will be dupes]

Yes the man died, but we don't need dozens (or 1000's) of individual posting each with videos.

Perhaps a thread where everyone can post their favorite
or as a reply to one of the existing posts such as this one.

Better to have one long post than 1000 individual posts.

just a suggestion

(that being said, I had forgotten about this bit. thanks for reminding me. upvoting your edit)

made me think of Ralph Macchio from Crossroads
Willie Brown: Why do you want to know about all that stuff?
Eugene Martone: I'm a blues man.

Willie Brown: A blues man?
[starts laughing]

Willie Brown: Where you from, boy?

Eugene Martone: Well, I was born in Long Island.

Willie Brown: Oh, Long Island aww s**t, this is rich! Long Island: the famous 'breeding ground' for blues men!

OK I have been wanting to say this ever since last night. So here goes, and to hell with the DV sh*tstorm.

OK the guy was funny and witty and sh*t and he died. OK I get that. But...he was a comedian. Damn I have read some of the comments made on CNN and you would have thought that the man single handedly had gone to the moon with his own car, cured cancer while up there, and thought up a world peace plan that included free beer for everyone on the way home.

People were going on and on about his "genius". What about the genius of his writers? They were talking about his take on Global Warming...excuse me?!?! Again - the man's job by his OWN DEFINITION was "thinking up goofy sh*t"!

I have yet to shed a tear for any celebrity that has ever died. Not that I did not care about them...it is just that...well I guess maybe it is that I didn't care enough about them to shed a tear. Oh well.

Moe, how the hell did you miss that story? The man did go to the moon in his car, cure cancer, figure out the resolution for world peace, and give everybody free beer!

The story was on the front page. I think autumn posted it...

Bad Karma to you, dude. His staff was small. No writers, just help putting his ideas together. He was 71 after all. He wasn't a genius, he was able to find that spot that made you think about what a f**ked world we live in. He gets all my props for being himself.

My favorite part, and the ironic one:
We [Seinfeld and Carlin] were talking about Tim Russert and Bo Diddley and George said: “I feel safe for a while. There will probably be a break before they come after the next one. I always like to fly on an airline right after they’ve had a crash. It improves your odds.”

Well, I do know that he did his own material. I also know that we here in this house will miss him, as he was a great guy. In all our dealings with him he was always pleasant, kind--and funny as hell.
