If you want a brutally honest opinion on the matter, I'd say the girl was messing around on you because you're way too into her. Try not to fall so hard man, I have the same problem, but I'm old and I've learned to refrain. You're young, relax and have a good time. And be above fighting some random idiot because a girl that you shouldn't waste your time with was wasting her time with him.

beany...it's inevitable a day like this would come. women will love you and hurt you all your life. when you are young...you shrug it off, cool down and wait for the next one to come along. even in marriage your wife will love you and hurt you...it doesn't stop...the best thing to do is get good at saying sorry or making amends. but at this point, when you are young and have so much ahead of you...don't sweat it. you obviously know and value your feelings more than this girl and you are more mature than her if you understand the need to be faithful.

hit the weights, play some video games, enjoy your summer, get on a plane and fly to california...do something to get your mind off things and relax.
