Lucid Dreaming

I have lucid dreams every once in a while. I had no idea what they were until someone told me about them. He said that if you are ever in the middle of a dream and you realize that you are asleep, just start repeating the word "light switch" over and over in your head, and turn to a nearby wall in your dream. One will be there. Flip it a few times to see that you are in control, then have a ball. Do whatever the hell you want and enjoy the fact that there will be no repercussions.

Once I started to have them, I learned how to control them a little bit. I still don't have it down perfectly, and I can't control any dream. It's just that once in a while, I'll be having a dream that I realize I can control. It's pretty neat.

I've also noticed that when I have them, I need to stay relaxed, and not try too hard to keep control, because if you focus too hard on it you wake up.

I always start with the "light switch" trick, and once that works, I bring on the craziness, whether it involves cool cars, jets, skydiving, or nekked ladies.

I had two dreams last night. One involved a ninja monkey, which is always cool.

The second one, however was infinitely better. I was walking around in a mall, and everything just sort of clicked. I looked at my hand, and realized that I could do whatever I wanted. I pulled out a lightsaber, ignited it, and started running around, hacking and slashing at people, and cutting them up. It was AWESOME!

The mini-skirt thing works, but I usually try to start with the simple light switch, so as not to wake myself. Once the light switch appears, stuff just gets crazy.

Now accepting ideas and/or examples to be used for a desktop icon for the very soon to be released Dream Logger program.

If providing an actual image, it should be an .ico file and 32x32 pixels in size. No compensation whatsoever other than a nod of thanks in the program to be provided as the program itself is to be freeware.

This is the final portion of building the program. Once this is complete, I'll release it for download in this thread.

With Lucid Dreaming, you can start to take control of your nightmares, and make them whatever kind of dream you want.

I had a lucid dream out of nowhere after having tried before to keep a steady dream log and quit.

I could basically do whatever I wanted to...so I started flying around and created skyscrapers. I tried to fly into these skyscrapers but apparently I hadn't thought of anything to be inside of them so they were transparent and empty when I got close. I then turned myself into a angel and continued flying. I quickly decided demons were much cooler and became one of them.

I then created a society and provided everything for them, and things seemed to be alright...but then they were attacked by some nondescript monsters and they pleaded me for help. I refused to give it to them on the grounds that they needed to do some things for themselves. They explained that they had done one thing, which was create sun roofs for the skyscrapers which basically involved putting hinges on one edge of the roof.

I begrudgingly destroyed the monster and went off into a grass field or something.

Suddenly I was in a basement and people were talking to loud for me to use my power. So I focused hard on making a wall of tress between me an them to silence their racket. The trees grew and I was soon isolated and ready for more playing god....and I woke up

It was AWESOME!!!!!

My most memorable Lucid dream, was a nightmare.
I could control basic things, but I was purely stuck in that realm, and in the physics of that world. The way I dealt with things was up to me though.

It was a nightish warzone, cold, snow on ground. Fires, red yellow, orange. Dead soldiers, I think on my side. Looked like WWII soldiers. They had been clawed, bitten to death.
There were tank tracks in the snowy road, so I followed.

I had a FPS view of everything. My gun, was an M44 (I've shot these before, and it is a 1946 rifle)
I could hear howls, and I saw things, shadows moving very quickly. And soon, by firelight, something was standing. It appeared to be a werewolf. I crouched, took aim, and blew it right through the skull. I heard howls behind me, and one was right there. It lunged, I held up my gun to catch the teeth. It tried to claw me. It missed, I spun my gun, and cracked its neck. And then I saw the fallen soldiers behind me. They were getting back up. I turned, and RAN>>>

I ran through chain link fences, the doors slashed open, hole sin fence. I jumped barb wire, pits full of dead and fire. Eventually, I amde it back to a road. Dawn was setting in, because there was an orange glow, the sun. But in the misty distance, was a grouping, shadows. I could see hairs by the light, their ears on their heads. They looked almost blue. I know I fell to my knees, and I decided that was it. I woke up.

I had the craziest dream last night:

I was living in a village cut off from society. Everyone in the village had this certain feeling of impending doom but no one had any clue why.

One day this giant red dragon flew into the village; it looked just like the dragons in the Chinese parades. The dragon flew all over burping up pink bubbles. When the bubbles would burst a brownish pink dust would sift up into the air, the bubbles also sounded like they were giggling.

Without being told we all knew that we faced a choice, inhale the dust and follow the dragon to his home and an uncertain future or stay in the village. Either way we had no way of knowing the consequences.

Many people, including myself, were afraid to inhale the dust after seeing others do so. They became suspiciously cheery and subconsciously filed out of their homes into neat little lines and entered these pink portals that the dragon had left for them.

I was afraid the dust would surround me and I would be forced to inhale so I ran and hid. When I awoke the next morning the remaining villagers all seemed happy and relaxed. They were convinced that their peers had gone to a better place and some regretted not joining them. Most of the remaining villagers, I noticed, were elderly.

I exited the building I had slept in and began to walk along the river that traveled through the middle of the village. I immediately noticed that the river was lined with gigantic clams, so big that they could have swallowed me whole. Despite my best efforts it seemed I kept slipping into the water toward the clams. I dashed up the banks into someone's house.

When I entered the house I heard Ellen Degeneres' voice coming from upstairs, someone was watching TV. I found the bathroom and a towel and began undressing and drying myself off. Suddenly the owner was coming down the stairs toward me. I hurried to put my clothes back on and peered out the bathroom door. What I had thought was the Ellen Degeneres show was actually Ellen, she was the owner of the house. I stepped outside the bathroom and said "hello."

It was at that point that I woke up.
