DEP and I were talking about UFO's and it got me wondering how many of you have ever experienced something a little more down to Earth... like a ghost or the "paranormal?"
A personal experience...
My friend lived in a VERY old house. He was convinced it was haunted. I never gave it much consideration until I spent an evening over there. We were the only ones in the house, yet we heard people running back and forth on the floor above us and saw what looked like hands gripping the railing of the stairs. The noise stopped as soon as we hit the steps.

I lived in a duplex with a kid my age (whom I still talk to today - and is a member of plime His parents were religeous nuts, and went around exorcising demons and ghosts and stuff. Our theory is that they brought one home.
We were sitting on our porch playing with a tape recorder acting out a d**k Tracy story we wrote. My dad called me in the house real quick and my friend came with me. When we went back out we wanted to hear where we left off, so we rewound the tape a bit and then hit play. Right after my dad called us in you hear the tape stop and then there are these deep demonic voices mocking us. It's hard to make out what they said for the most part, but at one point one of them said "Hey d**k Tracy, we're right behind you."
We weren't gone long enough for anyone to sneak on the porch and f**k with us, and it wasn't a tape malfuntion. "Hey d**k Tracy, I'm right behind you" wasn't even in the script.
It really freaked us out. My friend still has the tape and every once in a while we listen to it for a mind f**k.
STORY2: My wife went on a drive to South Carolina with one of her friends. During the drive my woman was taking pictures of the beautiful old houses they drove past. She took one picture right after the other. In the first three houses everything is perfectly clear, really nice homes. But in the fourth picture there is a strange fog all over the place, like a marshland. Next houses are perfectly visable.

When I was in high school, one of the student's mothers came to talk to our class. She was Native American. I saw an aura around her body. And no, I wasn't on anything. She was a very spiritual woman.

My guess would be to use the headphone jack on a cassette player and plug the other end into the "audio in" port on your PC - play the casette and record the audio to an MP-3 or WAV file... or get the neighbor kid to do it for you :)

Have you ever seen a ghost or experienced something similar?
Yes.
Scared the hell outta me and almost crashed the car cause I was scared so bad.
I also have premonitions (and I'm not crazy, I swear).
Examples: I knew that I would be the passenger in my own car when it would be hit by a white semi. I told eveyone about it and no one believed me until it happened. Right after the wreck, I called my mom and was like, "remember when I told you blah blah blah . . .? Yeah, well it happened".
I knew months before this store burned down that it was going to burn down (it was a weird store anyway, and everything gets burned down here)
I also knew that Wal-mart was going to expand and I knew what it was going to look like and it really weirded me out when they started the construction.
Uh, I'm not going to give any more examples cause you'll think I'm nuts :P

I went to an all-Native school and it's known for it's hauntings. click (scroll down to Lawrence). My school use to be a "boarding school" and lots of kids died there. We have a cemetary on campus that's filled with children and there's countless unmarked graves scattered thoughout the campus. It's not uncommon to feel like you're being watched or to hear stuff there. I actually have a really crazy story about Haskell, but I'm not going to go into that here. Message if you're curious :P

The building that burned down was an old abortion clinic that turned into a place that sells Tarot cards.

Sometimes when I'm in bed I get the feeling that someone is pushing against my legs, even though I'm all alone (which is sad in itself). I live in a 100-year-old college dorm, so you know there's a butt-load of angst and suicidal energy around.
Of course, those phantom nudges could just be a result of the freaky physiological changes the body goes through when it falls asleep.
Yeah. Yeah, that's it. It's just my brain playing tricks on me.
No need for that night light.

My older sister and I were skidooing home from my cousin's place once, and we saw a HUGE silver moose on the trail ahead of us. As we got a little closer, we saw it wasn't a real moose; it was a spirit moose. We were both scared sh*tless, and we didn't move until he - sort of walked off and disappeared at the same time. When we looked at the trail ahead of us, we saw the river had opened up in the hour or so that we had been away from home. We wouldn't have stopped in time had the Great Moose not been there - and we weren't going fast enough to skip accross.
My grandmama is Cree, and she told us that it was the Moose Spirit and that he was there to warn us.
I know that's not a scary/spooky supernatural story, but it's my favorite to tell because I don't get spooked telling it. [I've seen some creepy, spooky and downright scary sh*t].

I'm not trying to bible-thump here, but if you believe Jesus, you have to believe in ghosts. He flat out said, "I am not a ghost" because of people like "doubting Thomas". If ghosts didn't exist, why would he feel the need to say it?
I, myself, am kind of disappointed. I have never seen a ghost, have never seen a UFO, and have never had visions or premonitions of any kind. At least not that I can remember. I have been to some of the strangest places in the world and places I would expect to get weirded out at. But... nothing.
I don't know if I should be thankful or depressed about it. I don't have a point of reference.

Have to agree with you!
