"Reports indicate that the colors of the bracelets signify different inappropriate actions that students will do or have done," Principal Mike Medina wrote in an e-mail to parents Thursday. "Due to the nature of the inappropriateness associated with these bracelets, we are asking students not to wear them."

I just had my 40th b-day party and it was 80's themed. I couldn't pay my kids to wear them for that let alone to school.

The elementary school I attended banned these for the same reason. Teachers would make the students cut them off if they saw anyone wearing any. Most everyone wore them, but I didn't know anyone who wore them to "signify different inappropriate actions"

this is so much b.s. I love how every couple of years some bored ass parent decides to make a big deal over this stuff.
In high school I wore them, purple black & blue, so many they reached half my arms. Never did it mean anything but just plain decoration.
I still have black purple and green bracelets that I wear every once in a while. If you're stupid enough to think they mean something that's your own damn problem. They only thing you're going to get is slapped if you try something.

my sister wears these to add color or to match with her outfits, and nothing more. It's not even a big deal with the kids who wear them. They'll say "Hey, you know if I break this one you'll have to ____?" Of course, they're only joking and anyone who thinks that they'll actually do anything because of the bracelets is stupid.

In the ridiculous circumstance that the school might be right regarding the meanings some group of kids have assigned to the colors of the bracelets, it would still be impossible for them to stop the kids from coming up with some other innocuous code to represent what they wish to express. If they started writing YYNNNYNNYY on their class folders, I'm sure that the schools would then discuss or try banning writing on class folders. Good luck with that.
