I already changed the link to ananova shouldn't that be enough? We don't know the previous site is her own blog. She posted 2 links, if both were from that blog, perhaps you are right.

Do a google search and there are dozens of blogs with this story, it is possible that she read it on that blog.

Yes a news article is better as you told her, but changing the image and headline after the link has been changed sounds a bit much to me.

Perhaps I am wrong...
