No family member other than the father went down to the basement in 24 years? Even if it was kind of a "maze" to get to the right spot, the homeowners would know the structure of the house. And sure, there are places I don't go in my house very often, but I've never refrained from going to any spot for more than a few months, max (the spot being the attic). And even if I don't go there, someone else does.

2. Why the hell didn't they try to escape? Even if there was a threat of "poison gas" - you'd think they'd still make the effort. Personally, I think I would risk the "poison gas" to make an attempt to get out.. it's well worth the risk to get out off a s**thole like that. And, they said this was all figured out because the woman wanted to be a good mother and send her daughter to the hospital when she was sick. But what about her parenting duties say, all the rest of the time? I guess trapping your kid in a cellar their entire life is acceptable, but if he or she gets sick then it's not. I'd be okay with being sick as long as my entire f**king life wasn't ruined as these kids' were. And I'm 19... the same age as the two downstairs kids. It's weird to think about my entire life and all of that just replaced with images of a cellar--

jLoSsDh @ 5/4/2008 1:13:45 AM

Maybe a bit inappropriate this soon...but,

I bet there`s going to be a movie.

suebe @ 5/4/2008 12:03:52 AM

OMG how horrible to read these details.
