For anyone tempted to shout "Fake" and say they know a lot about Photoshop and can tell by the pixels then don't. You'd be wrong and you'll look like a fool. These are undoctored photos of a real physical object.

For these really determined to spoil the illusion, click here

I happened to be there this morning. The cylinder is pulled up buy a crane. In the cylinder is a car which is dropped out by cables at a high speed. The car was covered in some canvas to hide its make and model. Security and cops were everywhere. This obviously is the preparation for either a PR stunt or the filming of a commercial.

Right away I could tell that it wasn't a real invasion. Not because of the technological tools that we have at our disposal to doctor photos, because Pock is right, there was no photoshop involved.

More simply, the crater is not big enough. If this object had 'crash landed' from outer space, half of London would be gone and there would have been a landing canal.

Not to mention it would have been all over the news. Not just in London.

Clever, though... very clever. Perhaps next time, if they want to make it a tad more realistic, they would consult scientists instead of marketing specialists.

The truth is out there.

And they will find it.

Seriously though...I am the "Scully" of the duo. There is a logical explanation. I just don't what it is. Heh.

If Hollywood can get away with it, anyone can!

The logical explanation being the details contained in the explanatory story in the link in the first comment.

I think you mean advert for a car (check the link in the first comment - you'd be surprised what it tells you).

Advert for a car.

It's in the link in the first comment.

The article that says:

The large object had 'landed' on the grass next to City Hall and was emitting smoke and a strange noise.

Men in dark glasses were guarding the crash site and refusing to explain to passers-by what was happening.

Potters Fields Park has been hired for a stunt to promote the launch of the Vauxhall Insignia car (sold under the Opel brand outside the UK).

The new cars will be unveiled in the park on Monday.

Is that clear enough?

Yeesh.
