82-year old woman told she can't photograph an empty swimming pool because she might be a pedophile
82-year old woman told she can't photograph an empty swimming pool because she might be a pedophile
yeah. you read it right. Not much more to add. Woman is prohibited from taking a picture of a pool where children sometime swim because she might be achieving some sort of psychic sexual gratification from the imprint of the souls of all those children that have or will swim there. picked by bernardblack 3 months ago

Wow. That would be the very definition of "bulls**t" right there. Oh, and I absolutely adore the person who left this comment:
I am shocked and horrified that you included a photo of the 82-year-old photographer with this story. Don't you know that there are perverts out there who lust after elderly women? By publishing this photo, you are stoking the sick fantasies of elder-fetishists, and potentially inspiring a horrible crime!

What is wrong with people? Children have been EVERYWHERE except casinos, sex shops and bars, so are those they only places we can now take pictures?

If you've ever had a child hug you, I imagine - just to be safe you understand - we should make it illegal to photograph you.

Children have been to these places too don'tyaknow!!

Gawd soon people will have to stop taking photo's of public stair cases because someone has walked up them in bare feet, and a pervert could get gratification of the thought of a bare step with the memory of a passing bare foot...

Someone hand me my hockey stick of PURE f**kING COMMON SENSE!

Just to play devils advocate, many websites and professional publications require parental consent before a photograph of a child can be taken. For a multitude of reasons that I'm sure does not exclude the crack-pot excuse these guys gave.

Yes, that would be understandable. This was an empty pool however.

Ah... Yes... Well that's true.

Maybe she was setting up an old lady paedo ambush.

Actually, that's another great band name: Old Lady Paedo Ambush

I'm pretty sure I was in a few casino's in Las Vegas when I was a child (my grandmother lived there) and I was walked through the gambling areas on the way to a variety of Las Vegas tourist attractions.

So they could get some paedophiliac satisfaction from sensing my left behind child aura from a decade ago.

Oh no! I've taken pictures of my own children! Someone put me away before I do it again! (And what about those photo stores at the mall that specialize in children's photographs? They should be ashamed of encouraging pedophilia).

Oh, I thought this was some kind of law or something, turns out it was just one worker who told her not to take photo's. Obviously the guy takes his job a little too seriously, not the first jobsworth and I'd imagine not the last.

Definitely doesn't hail the beginning of the end for civilization and human rights.

Also I strongly suspect that the council worker didn't tell her she might be a paedophile but I suspect that somehow worked it's way into the story as a presumption as to why the council worker told her she couldn't take photo's.

Another prime example of making a "news" story out of absolutely nothing.

Also she was taking pictures in a playground

Betty Robinson banned from taking photos in playground

I'm not saying it should be wrong to take pictures in a playground but it's hardly the "empty pool", no one around, scenario the article tries to portray.

It saddens me to think that the world over, millions of people are living under oppressive regimes, suffering extreme abuses of their most basic human rights and in one of the most free countries in the world one old lady manages to get herself in the news to whine about being told to not to take photos (hardly a human right in itself) in a playground.

I think she's old enough to remember WW2 and to remember how thousands upon thousands of her generation died to protect Britain's freedom from the Nazi regime. Maybe she should appreciate the liberal freedom she has to live in a civilized (by the worlds standards) society instead of whining about a single incident.
