Knut the bi-polar polar bear Posted: 1 year ago by mitzuzake
Knut was the perfect mascot for the Green movement, splashed on the cover of Vanity Fair. Now? He's a quivering, angry mess. A cautionary tale of animal celebrity.
Anyone else find this photo profoundly disturbing?

How sad. I wonder if there is anything they can do now.

I was in Germany in April and went to see Knut. It is sad that he is without the contact of his first trainer. All Baby Polar Bears have their Moms for 3 years and he was just yanked from Thomas Dorflien. He does see him every day at feeding time, but he is a very social bear. He has been accustomed to people and probably thinks of himself as more of a person than a bear. It is societies fault and we have to deal with it. He is wonder though, amazing to watch.
