Handy Viking curses:
* Faen
Derived from "Fanden", which means "The Devil", this is a very commonly used curse.
* Satan
Well, I guess this doesn't need explanation. Used just like "faen", only less common.
* Helvete
"Hell". Used much like in English.
* Jvlig/Jvla
"Devillish". A very common adjective which have several connotations. It can mean that the thing you describe is extreme in some way ("jvlig stor" = "very big") or to mean disapproval of something ("jvla dust!" = "bloody moron!"). Used much like "f**king".
* Fitte
Equivalent to "c**t", this word has aquired a strong, negative meaning. (This is the reason Honda Fitta was renamed to Honda Jazz...)
* Pikk
"d**k". Used much like "faen", but much more rude because it's less common.
* Dritt
"s**t". Not used much by itself, more often used as an adjective or a prefix, e.g. "Drittbil" = "s**tty car". Another example is the common drittsekk, which means "dirtbag".
* Rasshl
"a*****e". Very rude. Used like in English.
* Herregud
"Lord, God". Used to express frustration.
* Svarte
"Black". Medium rudeness factor. Can be used like "faen" or as an adjective.
* Pokker
A milder version of "faen", this is something you could probably get away with with your mum.
* Fillern
Even milder, even your granny probably wouldn't wince from this once.
* Sren
Ditto.
* Shut up = Hold Kjeft klapp igjen
* Go to hell = Dra til Helvete
*Kiss my ass = Kyss m i rva ( = ae)
* kveithau = big flat fish's head (usually used about some idiot)
* baillmonster = not a nice person :)
* kuksuger = d**ksucker

Suddenly out of seemingly nowhere whatsoever, a bolt of lightning shoots down and strikes directly in front of DoggyLives. His rope is broken and he is thrown backward onto Rambo2020. He holds onto the side of the boat with one arm and the Hvaml with the other. His 3 lb. Swiss cheese wheel in a leather case is not so fortunate and is swept overboard between boats #1 and #2.

Anyone with some spear/arrow/rope action might be able to save the cheese before it becomes waterlogged and sinks, IF they act quickly. DL and Rambo are occupied however getting DL tied back into place.

I join Suebe in her boat with my knife, cooking supplies and gear, armour, spare clothing and water bag.

Since I see doggylives cheese going down, if I am close enough, I attempt to spear it with my knife.

If I'm close enough. If not, I stay my ass in the boat!

I tie my length of rope very tightly to the shield and then, holding on to the spare end of the rope, throw the shield past the cheese. Then I pull the shield back in with the intention of scooping the cheese along the way.
