I'm watching the beast as it stands over Jerry's prone body. It seems to have lost him and has not focused on me. Like before, it moves it's head back and forth as if trying to locate us.

Very cautiously, very slowly and timing it to coincide with when the swing of the beast's head puts me out of its field of vision I step towards it, standing still as it looks towards me.

All the while I'm looking for a soft part of its underbelly or other vulnerable spot.

The beast begins sniffing the area, it brings its head down to the ground area and smells around; its great hulking size makes the hot breath from its nose feel like a blast from a furnace. Bits of snot hit Pock as the things nose zeroes in on him. It lets out a low growl as it tries to make certain that its prey stands before it.

The snout is only inches away.

Slowly I bring my axe back to the full extent of my swing and then with all my might I swing it forward. With dizzying speed it hits the lizard right on the nose.

... and splits its snout in two. The beast lets out a loud roar and rears its head back, subsequently lifting pocksucket off of the ground as he struggles to free his axe from the cartiledge and bone. It shakes its head back and forth letting out a mighty roar, and pock hangs on for dear life. Eventually it shakes free of him, and sends him hurtling through the air.

As pock plummets to the ground below he sees the wingless dragon thundering away letting out terrible pain filled shrieks of torment and rage. As his head hits the ground, and things start to go dark; pock is aware of a few human forms stepping out of the tree line.

Then everything goes black.

I lie very, very still, really not doing very much or reacting to much at all.

Oblivion has me in her sweet, sweet embrace.

There may be some snoring.

Shifting in and out of conciousness, both Jerry and PockSucket catch glimpses of trees moving by over their heads; they ocassionaly wake long enough to realize that they are being dragged through the wood.

Much later they awaken to a very dark room, a few strands of light make their way in from between planks of wood. Your heads hurt like Thors hammer had been bashing them flat.

Your weapons are not with you and you lay on a hard wooden floor.

(feel free to be "knocked out" as long as you'd like. I don't know how many more updates I have in me tonight, tomorrow night I will try to keep things rolling along as well)

----

Meanwhile, back at the village... What the f**k is going on back at camp? Doggy and Suebe and Maven and MurderousKitty are almost back at the village; Suebe still pummels Doggy from atop his back. MadHatter has tended to her wound, and Chez has claimed many of the posessions of the old tennants as her own.

Anyone doing anything? Anyone waking up? Anyone making a movement? Anyone want to tell anyone what the f**k just went down? Is anyone even there to listen? Just what the hell is going on back in town?

Finally off of his back, Doggy is free to stand again... With his fresh sheep meat in hand.

The ground rocks under you and your stomach heaves. You decide that it would be best to return to a sitting position.

Alright, you two (Pock and Jerry) have done quite a bit. I'll leave you two where you are for now and pick it up tomorrow. I've still got a bit of work ahead of me here, so I'll keep checking back on the thread. If anyone from the village updates I'll try and adress the posts, or whatever.

After attending to my wound I go back outside, and everyone still seems to be in some kind of daze, save Chez who is going a on greed rampage.

"There must be some kind of curse here. I must consult THE book."

Goes back inside the cabin and brings out a very LARGE book from her bag. It is not like the story book at all. This one has a black cover with silver latches and strange markings on the front. I lean down and kiss the sigil on the front and open the book to try and see if I can make some sense as to what is going on with everyone in the village.

As I approach the village with the busty viking women behind me and one still ponding on my back, the annoying, grief-stricken one that was hit me with knitting needles finally gives up and the relief is immense, with her and the sheep, the weight was starting to take it toll on me.

It may seem insensitive due to the sheep I cleaved in half being Suebe's pet an all but I head towards the fire pit to prepare the sheep and get it on the spit roast.

Cattle die, kindred die,
Every man is mortal:
But I know one thing that never dies,
The glory of the great dead
