RealBabies ? [video]
We have all read about men buying life-like dolls for pleasure and companionship. Some women are also spending thousands of dollars on life like dolls, but these are dolls that look exactly like real babies.
Link is a documentary on the dolls and the women who buy them, sadly embedding is disabled, see comment for direct links. picked by 2manyusernames 8 months ago

Thanks. That is so irritating when the disable embedding.

The uploaders basically steal copyrighted content, put it on youtube and then want to disallow people from being able to view it without going to their page.

Yeah it's a special level of dishonesty.

Thanks for posting it - I've just watched it all now.

It got a bit difficult towards the end there - the expectations that those women had.

I was verging on the "so long as they're not doing any harm" point of view, but I don't think that's the case. The woman with the replica of her grandson is in severe danger of creating an ideal of the boy that he can never live up to. The doll, after all, would never call granny "numbnuts".

I got a laugh at the end when her grandson called her that.

I think that the one who actually took hers for a walk...well..she seemed to have a couple of loose screws somewhere. Its one thing to want a doll to dress, its another to play the whole mommy roll to it.

My mother had a doll obsession, and would have loved to have one of these reborn dolls...but I'm pretty sure my dad would had her committed if she went that off her rocker with the dolls. (My mom passed away in 06, and dammit, she had one doll I wanted to keep for my kids, but i couldn't find it.)

Wow. Zach and I just watched it. It reminded us of Edward Scissorhands. Those women are psycho and their husbands seem unhappy.

The numbnuts comment was pretty funny.

I can see how a doll like this would be useful for soon-to-be older siblings, but it's odd to see women treat these dolls like children. Then again, we see women dressing dogs in baby clothes and walking them in prams, so what's the difference, really.

Seeing the room full of life-like dolls made me think about a zombie factory.
