The Most Important Things In Life
The Most Important Things In Life
Sure makes you think about what your priorities in life are.

There's many variations of this story going around so I don't know how true this one actually is, but it's still a valid point whichever way it's told. picked by 86Apex 7 months ago

I heard a version of this about 15 years ago in a management seminar. Only it was about how to prioritize your work time and accomplish major tasks first, then medium ones...and so on.

But there was no beer involved, it could have been a better seminar.

Really good find. I bet those students went and called their loved ones after class.

No beer? What kind of camp were you going to for seven years?!

Thanks Pexy, a great reminder.

It brings to mind a life lesson I taught my daughter after her grandpa died. We were all grieved over the circumstances, and she was especially so, and asking the big question: WHY.

We began making a cake from scratch, and I had her taste the ingredients one by one: the flour, baking powder, baking soda, sugar, oil, eggs, baking chocolate, and milk. Some were bitter, others sour or salty, some were sweet, and some had strange textures. We mixed them, put them in a pan, and baked the cake.

As she tried each one, I explained that life is like that. Our experiences aren't always good, but when you put them together, shape them, and heat (stress) was applied, you get something wonderful.

Afterwards we enjoyed a glass of milk and slice of cake.

This memory comforts me when times are difficult, reminding me to have patience, and wait for the finished product.
