See Code Pink In Action At Berkeley
Code Pink continues to protest in front of the Marine recruitment center, trying to deny people's civil rights. Their job is made much easier with Berkeley granting them private parking spaces on the public street. Update to this. picked by 2manyusernames 7 months ago

I wonder how effective protests like this are. From my experience at college, most people find protests like this more insulting, than convincing. The people in them have a lot of fun, but it really doesn't seem to recruit any new people to their way of thinking.

I can't help but feel that they are wasting a lot of energy on the wrong people. Even if they do shut down the Marines' recruiting office in their city, they won't really have solved any problem. Shouldn't they be focusing on the source of their anger (i.e. the federal government), and trying to create actual change? They're not actually going to effect national policy by harassing the three guys in that office.

Don't get me wrong: I'm all for protesting and demonstrating when you feel you need to. I just see a whole lot of energy being focused on a symptom, rather than the disease.
