If you want to know some more good news. When I read the title at first I was like "No way thats impossible how does that work?" Back then it was normal. We've come a long way indeed and we have a long way to go

I know I'm going to get flamed for this, but...

I honestly can't really see the point. It's great that he traced back his family history, but how many years must go by before we can move past the whole slavery thing? How long before we can look at each other and see "human" rather than "descendant of a slave-owner" and "descendant of a slave"?

That's pretty much what exactly they've done. They're taking steps toward what you're talking about, and this is a big one.

This sorta reminds me of a King of Queens episode where Arthur (old guy) finds out that his family once owned some of Duncan's family.

So he offers to pay for retribution, over and over until Duncan finally accepts.

Then Carrie notices that it wasn't even Arthur's ancestors, but someone else's with a similar but not exact name.

So Arthur wants his money back and Duncan says no. So Arthur decides to ask Duncan to do some work around the house to make up for the money he gave him..like slavery.

Hilarious episode. Anyway [/story]

That was a great episode. That's a great show, it really ruined it for me when I found out that Leah Remini is a scientologist.
