Library Loans Out People
Library Loans Out People
A London library had 26 people available to be borrowed for a 30 minute conversation. They each represented certain stereotypes. The project hoped to bring people together and perhaps dismiss some of the irrational dislike for people just because they are Muslim, a witch, transgendered, or anything else. picked by 2manyusernames 4 months ago

This is really an awesome idea. Can you image what this concept could do here in the States? I would so volunteer to be a 'Book' and so would my husband. This is equivalent to free education.

Well, sort of a 'biased' education if you will; because all you would be getting would be the persons point of view on worldy events and other topics.

I think this is outstanding. I would go to this in a heartbeat. And would volunteer for whatever I was worth. I have a few areas where I could be of interest.

I would rent out a witch, hopefully I could convince her/him(are witches only female??) to do some Wiccan ceremony/ spell type thing, because that would be fascinating to see.

Witches are male or female. Or transgendered. The term still applies.

I doubt you would get a witch to perform a ceremony right there. However I am certain they would be delighted to invite you to a ceremony. Most cites of any size have at least one coven that you could talk to.

Meetup.com is an excellent place to find them- if you are interested in finding out more.

Ahhh so the term warlock is outdated or was made up by Christians or something.

Its an old english term that means oath breaker- and is used by more traditional covens to mean someone that has been banished. If you went into a coven and called a male a warlock- they would think you had played a bit too much Dungeons and Dragons.

However the confusion comes from the fact that Satanic sects freely use the title for leaders and such.

So I am unsure if it was first applied by uninformed writers, christian or other religious leaders, etc.

I think a program like this would be wonderful in my area. There are several aspects of beautiful cultures that get lost becasue the bad apples draw attention away from them. I think it would be fascinating!
