Top 8 Most Embarrasing Things about America
Incredibly accurate list, and pretty pathetic when you think about it picked by carguy4life 3 months ago

When I first read the title, I was somewhat offended, then I read the article and -- I have to agree.

Couldn't agree anymore. I have absolutely no counter argument to any of them.

As a Brit I have to go with that list but there is one error - The Office is a BRITISH comedy TV show, sold to the US and adapted!

My God, do you have to be so abrasive ALL the time?

WE used to be BRITISH but now we're not just like The Office USED to be BRITISH and now is not.

Soooo, since we are now AMERICA and NOT England and the show is now televised in AMERICA and NOT England it is AMERICAN.
EDIT: to correct the part about televised but the show is over.

Thank you.

No one is arguing with that. All it was saying that the acting and writing of the American office is much better than CSI.

From the article.

Why couldn’t The Sopranos, The Wire, or The Office be the most watched show in the world. At least then people in far off lands would know that there was some good writing and good acting to be found here. But no, instead we send them Horatio Caine, and his idiotic Sunglasses.

Seriously, why do people watch CSI? Any of them? I've watched it twice, and I can honestly say, I'd rather watch reruns of Saved by the Bell. (and I have always hated that show)

There are also worse states than Kansas. You know which ones you are.

ABRASIVE!! What's abrasive about me pointing out that The Office was 'originally' British?

I don't think it was abrasive at all, aside from the fact that you are pointing out the TRUTH!!

For the record, I much prefer the original, British "The Office." I think I just find British humour to be more funny than American humor.

WRT the post, though, I agree with the list, even though I'm not American. When someone mentions America or Americans, 6 of those 8 things immediately pop into my head.

Well before I read the article I said, Paris Hilton had better be on that list! I was soooo happy to see that she not only made the list, but she was #1 on it! Hahaha. The fat kids numbers startled me. I had no idea it was THAT bad. 1 in 8 children are overweight. Wow.

Yes, I have to agree with the list also. ESPECIALLY Paris Hilton. WTF?!?!?! How on earth did that EVER happen???

I've watched CSI only if I was at someone else's house and was forced into it. To me it was like the Forensic Files does Miami Vice. lame.

I would like to see the British version of The Office, because I wasn't all that thrilled with the American version. However, My Name is Earl was hilarious!!

Is it just me, or does it seem that America-bashing is the new black?

Don't get me wrong, a lot of it is funny, and a lot of it is true, but it's getting old.
