Update on missing florida girl, Caylee Marie Anthony
Update on missing florida girl, Caylee Marie Anthony
Our local news has confirmed that police have located a shovel that the mom borrowed from a neighbor. Police dogs, after sniffing the shovel, led investigators to a spot in the grandparents backyard. They are continuing to dig.

Video update on the right side after the jump.

I fear this will not have a happy ending.

Does anyone have insight as to why this is happening more and more?

I'm so sickened by this sort of story that I cannot even read/watch them anymore.

I see a small child's face on the news these days and I immediately feel a sense of dread. Life shouldn't be that way.

Where's the updated info? It looks like the same story with no new information. Am I missing something?

Man, I hate to pick nits like this, but since this is actually the exact same page linked in the first post, this probably should have just been a comment on the original.

No; as it's the same link, the original one will be updated too. But the shovel/dog search video wasn't there yesterday.

So, thanks for the (unsurprising) update.

I hope the kid is found. Even though she's probably dead, that would still make it easier to keep that "mom" in jail, where she belongs.

This story reminds me of the case of Susan Smith. I remember how well she played the part. Or so we thought. I can't imagine what has happened to this little girl. I hope they find her very soon. I know I said that before. But she needs to be found so this case can be resolved.

In answer to your question...

I think there are 2 aspects to this phenomenon. First, the media spreads these stories all over, so there's a lot more visibility to them.

Second, I think there are a lot more people unwillingly reproducing. They neither wanted the child nor are willing to do anything responsible with it, so things like this end up happening.

It's depressing, either way.

ugh. Enough with these stories. I know you can turn your new born in to the fire department if you feel unable to parent. Here my hubby and I are trying like mad to be parents and (alledgedly) there are gorgeous wonderful kids being .... I can't even finish the sentence.

Bunny, I agree with you. There are so many people out there struggling to be parents, who REALLY want a baby of their own, and then the people who dont want kids and cannot or will not care for them properly get pregnant. It is sad. It really is.

I'd be interested in knowing what sort of sex-ed a lot of these people had. I wonder if they understand how easy prevention really is? Do they make an effort? Or rely on something like the rythem method?
