What's next, a bonus for pilots if they don't crash the plane?

Being an amateur surgeon and pilot myself, I'd totally appreciate that.

I think those bonuses for pilots have been in place for a while. Allstate Insurance already compensates drivers for driving safely.

Granted, anyone in the medical profession must be aware that they cannot collect the money if the patient dies (which I think it is ridiculous to offer such a bonus) Other industries (insurance) may see a benefit and decrease on claims if bonuses for good behavior were in place.

I hate to think that a surgeon will try harder if there's money involved.
I would hope that they would be giving it their best efforts to do it right without incentives.

But, just to be safe side, start taping a C note near the incision site.

If I ever have surgery on a certain body part, I'm going to make doubly sure it's the right one, and then label it.

There have been several cases of amputations of incorrect body parts lately.

I think the patient should get extra money just for surviving.
