If my math is correct, it makes 3,000 Zimbabwe dollars equal to LESS then 1 US penny ($.01)! Why would a currency need get so small? I understand some countries are broke and 300 US dollars is serious life altering cash to them, but 1/3000th of penny for 1 dollar? What purchase would warrant such a factor.

Any folks schooled on this stuff have an explanation as to how this happened? I mean...9 digits? ...for the US equivalent of $300?
