just alittle info i found:
The chelenophagi, or turtle eaters, are described as swimming out to the animals in twos and tipping them over, whereupon a rope was fastened to the tail and the animal hauled in. Reports are also given of using shells for shelter as well as boats, for "they are huge in size and not smaller than the smallest fishing boat" (Burstein 1989). The usefulness of the sea turtle is then neatly attested to: "so that nature seems to have granted them with one gift, the satisfaction of many needs, for one and the same gift is their food, container, house and boat"

I think I am going to spoil the fun for some. When I wrote girl it is because of her gender, I usually refer to females as "girls" no matter how many kids of her are over the legal drinking age. Still she is friendly and that is a very important trait for me in everyone.

I have seen turtles hit by car, mostly the shells are in pieces, and the heads are very badly damaged or not at all.
On image 2 the little shadow next to the eye is a piece of meat. The damage seems like something sharp has made them.
And don't play this on me, my spelling is bad enough as it is, now you made me check if skulls are spelled with a c or k. Please don't attempt to confuse me.
I don't think she actually kills them, more probably just buys them as part of some kind of oriental food. Well cooked meat can be cleaned off of the bone very well. Take for examples rooster heads that are eaten by lots of people. I don't see why would anyone assume she has eaten the eyes. Probably the brains, well, rooster brain is a delicacy even here in the US at some places, so turtle brain could be good too.
As your notes on privacy, well, it is kind of right, but mostly wrong. You assume too much here. I assume (maybe too much as well) you know how cubicles are set up (mostly), and what "the other side" means. Just to make things more clear: this cubicle is on a corner. Anyway I will have to talk to her, if our boss happens on the skulls she will get in some trouble, just as if she was storing cleaned chicken bones in there.
Well, what else can I say. Oh, theft: that does not stick, I did not take away anything, not even temporarily. (You are right I was contemplating it.) Still I am in a gray area, probably again best is if I talk to her.

Thanks. I thought they use turtles to make soups, to chew their skull clean is new to me. I wish it was rattle snake, that is a much more frequent animal. Maybe this is the skull of a more frequent type of turtle that is overpopulating its liebensraum. It is sad, well, I go to eat some turkey for breakfast.

On the second and the last photo you can see a bone at the back bottom of the skull, under the long flat vertical bone-blade that goes backward. That is a first bone of the vertebrae or backbone.

OK, I made some photos:

On the side there seems to be an opening where lower jaw could be attached, but I did not find any lower jaws. As I look at the pictures, they look far less flat than they really are. In other respects they are OK.
Could this be some kind of fish or snake? Maybe a bat?

That would not make much sense, nobody keeps personal items around. Often people get informed about getting assigned to a new team, when they come in in the morning and all their items are already carried to their new desk. For similar reasons they don't keep personal files on the computer: it might get upgraded and they might never see the old one ever again. This means nobody pokes around, there is nothing to find. I work here since a decade, the only thing that ever popped up for anyone was when my boss opened someone's browser, and his homepage was set to the subscription page of playboy.

Some people collect skulls. There's a lot of work involved in cleaning a skull enough to display, and specific standards regarding documentation of collection.

So it could just be that she's found the skulls between home and work and would rather have them decompose at home than at work (disturbing, still).

This happened a few minutes ago.
I work at one of my coworkers desk, installing a new hard drive. She is not here today. As I sit down my knee kicks her desk, on the other side a rotating drawer pops open. So far it was funny. The drawer is full of skulls. Little, 2-3 inch diameter lizard or frog skulls. That was a bit of a shock. And as the rotating drawer rotates out even further, there are condiments in plastic bags next to them. A closer look reveals, that some of the skulls are clean, but on some of them there is some meat left. Looks like scrapped off by teeth.
Is there any food like that on the markets? Is it possible to buy frog head in any store in the US? Is she just weird or did she open me a new window to fresh culinary experiences? Does anyone know anything about lizard or frog head snacks?
